Technical description for port 9995:

The port 9995 serves the application cflowd to accept Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) packets from a router. Cflowd is a tool used for evaluating traffic flow patterns between network nodes and for analyzing traffic flow by applications. It compares Web traffic versus email traffic and audio streaming versus file transfer protocol. It also functions for Cisco Systems' NetFlow enabled switching system.
The port 9995 is also employed by PlanetLab sensor users to receive live PLUTO BGP Sensor updates in text mode from lurch.cs. princeton.edu and related websites. It also functions for the open source software Wireshark 1.00 which is used by developers in troubleshooting network and application development problems.
Online resources that need to show images such as Java maps and users who need to view features of websites created with Java also utilized port 9995. It has also been recommended for connecting from x.25 interface on Cisco router 2336 to the x.25 interface of another Cisco router without using an Internet Protocol (IP) address.
