Bootstrap Protocol Server is a listening port on BOOTP & DHCP server. Client transmits to the protocol for booting or network parameters. It is also used for network client to get its IP address automatically. This is normally completed during the bootstrap process at the startup. The BOOTP server allocates the IP address to each user from a group of addresses. The BOOTP protocol was originally defined RFC 951.
