In computer systems, the network port 5001 is registered to the complex-link service which is defined as a protocol associated with the comprehension of various interconnected and mutually related parts. This service is widely related to the deployment of instant messaging applications. However, there may be instances that this port need to be opened at the Windows firewall.
Commonly, the communication port 5001 is associated with the MSN and Yahoo! instant messaging clients. Predominantly, this system port is used to host the voice chat feature of these programs.
