Technical description for port 2383:
The port 2383 serves as the main pathway for the traffic between SQL Server and clients through third-party applications. The port 2383 will serve as a communication access point to allow the sending and receiving of data between multiple terminals.
The port 2383 may be used as a pathway for queries and replies between the server and client via the Internet or through a Local Area Network (LAN).
The port 2383 can accommodate both UDP and TCP connections according to the default specifications of database programs. Data packets that make up the traffic of port 2383 are encrypted.
OLAP services of applications developed by Microsoft Corporation use port 2383 by default.
