Technical description for port 119:
The port 119 is a Network News Transfer Protocol providing server hosts for prominent Internet newsgroups for USENET consumers/viewers. It shares news articles from other NNTP servers streaming through port 119. Clients use this news to read and write on the servers through the same port.
Before the Internet and the protocol began, USENET News was the pioneer of the newsgroup firm worldwide. This program still stands dominant despite all the tweaking that has been done. This application has its own share of faults given it is the first advanced news reporting software in the world. It was most prone to USENET hackers during its early years.
Many problems and abuses to news servers and content had caused Internet Service Providers to manipulate and block incoming protocols to end-users' port 119. This has prohibited the NNTP operation from ISP consumers.
